Seattle City Council Votes to Increase Construction Costs

The Seattle City Council joined other local governments in a move to increase regulation of the construction industry by requiring an assessment of the effect of any project on global warming. The result will be increased costs, more bureaucracy and an inevitable expansion of regulations.
What’s next? Well a study was done that concluded divorce, fewer extended families living under one roof and people living single longer had a detrimental effect on the environment. So if the government can require builders to compute thier effect on global warming, why not require that the effect on the environment be considered in divorce cases, single occupancy homes, birth certificates – the mind wanders?
