Political musings from Warren E. Peterson

Thank You, Judy Fenton

Posted by Warren Peterson on November 30, 2007

The final election results from the November 6th vote are in and certified. Judy Fenton garnered almost 22 percent of the vote in her race against the popular, typically Seattle liberal Council Member Sally Clark. If Seattle were a private corporation, 22 percent would be enough to gain a seat on the board but in winner take all politics; it serves only to measure the base of support.

Nevertheless, hats off to Judy for making the effort. Her distinctive diamond shaped yard signs peppered the city. She attended the candidate’s nights and appeared on the televised forums. She acquitted herself well. Too bad there are not more conservatives or even Republican moderates in Seattle willing to step up to the plate like Judy.

Thanks again Judy!
